went for SUPPER with brian yesterday… i just love night walks.. west coast is really a beautiful place.. and the sky was really clear, such that the glitter of stars could be seen from little singapore. ^-^ talked about astrology and how it wasn’t really our calling.. completed our Standard Obstacle Course in the playground with all the tight-rope walking.. balancing beams and monkey-ing.. [i can't do the monkey bar for nuts!] brian told me abt the SOC in army, which sounded really scary.. imagine getting tangled in barbed wires.. *shudders* then we talked about the playgrounds i always visited when i was young.. and how we still love the traditional wooden plank see-saw where your butt really touches the sand… and how those irritating boys like to stand in the middle of the seesaw when we girls are playing with it… =] then we walked pass Mr. Old Snail (gigantic!!), I wanted to help it cross the footpath but it was stubborn and refused to budge.. we tot it was such a pity if it were to be crushed to death by an unsuspecting passerby, afterall, it wsn’t easy for snails to grow that huge… the shell itself was the size of my palm! then we had strawberry sundae, limeade, small fries with tartar & curry sauce! and i kinda figured out that i need some training with direct sales.. coz i know i can’t take IRRITATING customers, i won’t have the patience to answer the kind of people who ask ALL the stupid questions in the world (twice, thrice or even 4 times!)… haha.. maybe someday i’ll get a short sales stint to test myself! muahah!

Joy to the World! I can’t wait for christmas.. despite the constant depiction of snow with christmas, I find christmas as a time of warmth, rest, reconciliation and reflection. it’s just like the fast spinning globe coming to a short pause during christmas. just for a breather.

Free Hugs Campaign. Inspiring Story! (music by sick puppies)The Free Hugs Campaign. It started in 2004 and was widely publicized in 2006 by a music video. It involves individuals who offer hugs to strangers in public settings. The campaign is an example of a random act of kindness, a selfless act performed by someone for the sole reason of making others feel better.This video you see here was recorded in Sydney. The main ccharacter here is Juan Mann & the music is provided by Australian band, Sick Puppies. A band whom he got to know a year ago.

Initial distrust of Juan’s motivations gives way to a gradual accretion of people willing to be hugged, with other huggers (male and female) helping distribute them. After some time, security guards, then police tell them they must stop, as Mann has not obtained public liability insurance for his actions. Mann and his companions then began a petition which reached 10,000 signatures. At that point, the authorities walk away, but not before being hugged by some of the participants.

On October 30, 2006, “Mann” was invited by Oprah Winfrey to appear on her show Oprah after making an appearance outside her studio that morning, offering free hugs to the crowd waiting to see the taping of that day’s episode.

So, go ahead, give someone a hug today. =) Every part of us have been made to give comfort.. More Than Words..

“Unless your can write well, or not you don’t put up a blog.”BAH!

My advice to ANYONE is that letting your mum know your blog address is a seriously BAD idea..

I feel that blogs, although public, are still very much a form of self expression.. and if you write well and get many ‘hits’, it’s just a bonus.

i’m not writing to impress.. i’m just writing so that people around me, for whatever reasons: bored, have a minute or 2 to spare, or even just care so much as to know what’s going on in my life; have a channel of access to me.

i’ve visited the idea of changing my blog address many times, and this time, I’m here to stay. It’s the last straw already.

You’ve kept pounding time after time, from my blog name, to the design layout of my blog, to YouTube legalisation issues, from dropping hints about political issues regarding blogs… [when I said "i know...", you dismissed it as overconfidence, ignorance, etc] but now, you’ve even penetrated into the core of it — what I write. Now, that’s it.

how should I cope with with this anger. God said, “be slow to anger”.. for with anger, it is easy to sin. I admit that I am angry. And it’s a choice whether to continue to be angry. Hence, this is the choice I have made, so that it will prevent further friction at home.

mum, i know you love me. i love you too. but sometimes, there’s this fine line, that’s so so faint.. that it’s so easy to cross over sometimes and step on each other’s toes..

I’ve decided to draw a clearer line now. Hopefully it’s slightly easier to see this time.

Such a shame, isn’t it? That Blogs, that were just something that evoluted from this OpenDiary concept has lost its meaning. Something so innocent as sharing things (that you know others will read) NEEDS to be meaningful. NEEDS to be well-written or smart. NEEDS to make sense. Has even become a political issue. Gosh.. isn’t this world constantly begging us to conform. I’m not saying that we shouldn’t be irresponsible of what we write, in fact, we should write with conviction and a sense of responsibility. i prefer to see it as a channel, for just different kinds of people, who would like to express themselves differently. To some of us, typing fervently on the keyboard is a form of stress relieve.. or even a sweet memory replay.. Just the thought, of knowing somebody is reading it is good enough for consolation. Yet at the same time, fuzzy enough to ignore.

All I am saying, is that we should be responsible to our own conscience as we write. Always write with conviction, coz then, everything will have meaning. Be watchful too, because words can encourage or break others, especially when it’s from someone you love.
