For those of you who are craving for a plate of GOOD hokkien mee.. lend me ur ears! and eyes. So far the best plate of hokkien mee i’ve eaten so far. The prawn stock it’s cooked in is rich, semi-sweet and well simmered into the noodles. I like the way they cook the yellow noodle with the thin bee hoon, rather than the thick bee hoon. It adds more variation to the texture as well, not to mention that the thin bee hoon soaks in the goodness of the prawn stock much better, in my personal opinion. Simply yummy! And not to forget, the prawns themselves are very fresh. You can tell when its meat is nice and firm, and the prawn shell wraps itself snugly round the meat, and comes off mostly in one piece. This stall is located @ the newly renovated Newton Circus. Do not be fooled by Thye Hong, it’s a little too commercialised and in my opinion, quality might have been sacrificed quite a bit. This stall I’m talking about, unfortunately because of my short term memory, is Kuang (something something) haha! don’t sigh ok, you can spot it easily, it faces the carpark! You can’t get that wrong can you? Here’s a picture to whet your appetite. Oh, and the chilli is quite nice too, though I find it a tad too ‘watery’.

Had to be the best hokkien mee brian and i had for such a long time since. And it’s great on weekdays coz there are plenty of parking lots… but alot of touting going on inside, i dont’ like to feel pressured into buying food. Bah, but the company more than makes up for everything! ^-^

And if you’re thinking of good cookies, please dump the thought of ‘Famous Amos’ in the bin. It’s overrated, even though the smell can be rather tempting at itmes. Try the cookies from Little Jerry’s. So far, I know there are 2 outlets, at Westmall Basement1, and Novena Square 2 Level1. Here’s why… We will be using their Almond Cookies in our following example…

Each cookie is a big mouthful.

Introducing the ALMOND COOKIE…

Full sized almonds…

Not just one.. not just two…

- Now, back to my life.
Tomorrow’s my last day at oh-see-bee-see and it’s really heartening to know that I’m leaving, knowing that I’ve met really nice people who have made this whole experience much more enjoyable. I’m so blessed by beautiful people. =)
Had lunch at the soup spoon, and it was really crowded. And well, why I appreciate really beautiful people is because there are really quite mean and inconsiderate people out there, who only think about their own ‘rights’ over everyone else.
Friends, next time you are really in a busy cafe or something, and there ain’t seats durign lunch peak, do be considerate and let others who have been waiting around for more than 15mins, HOLDING their food trays already, have the seat. You don’t have to abandon your half-eaten food, but at least make the effort to hurry up a little and leave. you can always CHAT some other place, your mouth is mobile, you know.
Be beautiful man. Not that mascara streaked, slick eyebrows and doll eyed person who cares only about herself. Or in any case, yourself, guy or girl, no excuse.
i rest my case.
met michelle, really nice of her to walk over all the way just for that short 20mins to chat up with me… thanks girl, you made my day. =) —– i wanna get the new $20 notes! =D

Witnessed a very perfect Mars & Venus scene last Sunday when I was out with joy, may, victor, bx, daniel, eugene, amos and enlin. hehe… we were at MOS burger:
victor: what instrument do you play?
joy: the oboe…
victor: is the willy old fox?
joy & me: huh?
victor: that one is the bassoon.. I remember instruments by animals they sound like..
joy: uhh, okay…
victor: oh! the oboe! i know i know.. it sounds like a duck.
joy: -silence-
me: -senses deadly silence-
joy: no it doesn’t sound like a DUCK.
victor: Yes! Yes! It sounds just like a duck… you know in the shows, they used the oboe to represent the duck.
joy: when you play it well it won’t sound like a duck!
victor: -pause- but i really think it sounds like a duck… you don’t think so? (very very dangerously innocently)
joy: – lost of words -
me: -tries to change the subject- Uhh.. I don’t think the bassoon sounds like a willy old fox what. Why does the bassoon sound like a willy old fox?
victor: That’s what they did in the show, they used the bassoon for the willy old fox. and the oboe for the duck.
me: -oh my gosh, he had to bring it back to the duck thing-
joy: it doesn’t sound like a duck la…
victor: yes it does! it does! I really think it’s very good coz it sounds like a duck, you can use it for the shows to represent the animal.
joy: -breathes through her teeth-
me: -helpless-
victor: you don’t think it sounds like a duck?
.
.
.
Well, that kinda went on and on, and Victor was really making his point so innocently, and so sincerely. Unknowingly, he ‘banged’ Joy 11 times —– yes, i counted.
bx: you know, when he asks it this way, he really means it. He doesn’t like, say it purposely to make you angry.
Yeah, totally.
*hugz joy* no, the oboe doesn’t sound like a duck! =D
i love my church friends!

Something beautiful… “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” 1 CORINTHIANS 13:13
I wanna end with an urge for all of us to pray for our Siblings in Christ, who have been held hostage under the Taliban in Afghanistan. Indeed they have caused a stir, a mission that has turned political, a situation that seems bleak, enraging, hopeless and some may even be frustrated about the fact that it seemed to be an obstacle against the world’s mission in combating terrorism. But take heart, because it only fulfills what God has mentioned.. “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Ephesians 6:12
The spiritual battle is only being seen more vividly, and it is so real. This is a reminder that this battle is real, because God is real. There’s a greater battle going on, and hence we must not cease to pray. Pray for strength, comfort, peace and deliverance from evil. For us back here, pray for discernment, for veils to be lifted, for indifference to be removed and for distractions that satan has put into our lives to be placed in the right shelves of our lives. Distractions like work, bad habits, even good habits, songs, hobbies, anything that ceases us to pray. My heart feels heavy, and everyone hates to be reminded of heavy, solid, serious stuff, or basically, the truth. Perhaps that’s why we all need encouragement dont’ we.
ok now, have a nice day!
